Training

Training is a huge part of our quality management system. Without correct training, we cannot carry out our works effectively and as this is something we pride ourselves very highly on, adequate and effective training must be undertaken in order to provide consistency and quality throughout our business. To show our commitment to training we are Investors in people accredited, and have now been given the Bronze award.

All operatives and our regular sub-contractors undertake a variety of training, some typical examples are listed below:

Health & Safety

CSCS (Basic, Trades and Managers Health & Safety). ECITB (Engineering Contractors), SMSTS (Site Managers Safety Training), SPA (for works in the Petrochemicals Industry) Radiological Controlled Training (Nuclear Industry), Confined Space, Asbestos Awareness etc.

Materials and Product

Training from product manufacturers such as Fosroc, Weber, Flexcrete, Liquid Plastics, Bridgeguard, kingfisher Chemicals etc.

Management Training

NVQ4 Site Management, SMSTS Site Management, IOSH (Occupational Health & Safety), NEBOSH (Health & Safety), HNC Construction, HND Construction, Level 7 Diploma in Administration etc

Plant & Equipment

CPCS (Plant Operators Competence Training). PASMA (Mobile Access Towers), IPAF (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms), Abrasive Wheels, ITSAAR (Hiab Operating) etc.

Site Works Training

As well as on site mentoring, South West concrete Repairs Ltd have developed (and are continuing to develop) their own in house training courses such as Basic Health & Safety, Use of Epoxy Resins, Use of Cementitious Products, Vibration, Specialist Coatings, Concrete Repair Techniques etc. We also give regular Toolbox Talks on over 40 different site issues such as PPE, Noise, Site Housekeeping, Use of grinders, Leptospirosis (Weils disease), Working at Height etc
