The Brief

Routine maintenance inspections had identified numerous defects to the bridge structure, these included concrete spalling and cracking to the pier caps as well as corrosion to some of the steel elements. This required strengthening to the bearings and some works to the fish plates.

The Solution

SWCR Ltd were called in to rectify the defective concrete and some of the cracks. Concrete repairs were broken out and repaired using specialist concrete repair mortar and finish to match existing profiles. Crack resin injection was required to fill repair the cracks which included pumping a mixed epoxy resin into pre-drilled holes via a hand pump injection system.
