The Brief

We were contacted by Somerset County Council to have a look at the primary and infant school. The concrete elements (window surrounds, columns, cills etc) throughout both schools had cracking and spalling of surface concrete, with some areas of exposed reinforcement bars.

The Solution

Each elevation was visually checked for defects and hammer tested. Once all of the defects were identified they were broken out and all loose debris was removed. Once broken out all of the steel reinforcement was cleaned and treated with a steel primer. Each defective area was then shuttered and repaired.
