The Brief

Tinside Lido Pool had been left abandoned for years. Its renovation revealed concrete defects to the concrete base of the pool and many defects to the pool house building structure.

The Solution

The project included the excavation of the existing concrete base of the pool and complete renewal including all the necessary steel reinforcement and formwork, grit blasting to remove old coatings followed by structural concrete repairs and application of specialist protective render and anti-carbonation coatings to the changing rooms, stair tower, sides of the pool, perimeter seating areas, shelters and sun deck, new roof coatings and slabbed areas, new coloured concrete to the decks, redecoration, new handrails etc.

South West Concrete Repairs Ltd were sub-contracted to carry out the grit blasting, concrete repairs, specialist cementitious render finishes to walls and application of specialist anti-carbonation coating.
